Letter From the Director
Thank you for visiting our website. I am hoping the information here will give you a glimpse into who we are and what we do. It has been a wonderful experience to watch Wildlife Associates grow and mature over the past 23 years. It is still exciting for us to bring our programs out into the public, to share the lessons of the wild with each and every audience.

Many students and adults who are touched by our programs and whose lives are enriched by the experience of being with and learning from the living wild teachers, talk to me. They express feelings such as, "something happened to me during your presentation," "it touched my heart" and "I will never look at animals the same way again."

In this information age, the speed at which we can access and memorize information is highly valued and rewarded by society and industry. Surfing through virtual reality and amassing information from books fills our thinking brain, and gives us the false impression that we have experienced the living world. We tend to forget our human need and our capacity to fully experience and develop rich and vibrant living relationships with nature.

Through our "Natural Systems Teaching" methodology, participants are led through a process of rediscovery, where their connection to all life is examined and experienced. Learning directly from living wild animals is such an enriching experience; it has the ability to help us develop balance and renewal in our lives.

We have increased our programs in nine areas: For schools, we have age-appropriate programs for pre-K, elementary and middle/high schools; for at-risk teens, we offer "Wild Teachers for Youth"; for adults, we've created personal growth workshops, teacher training, corporate team building seminars and a lecture series; for people of all ages we continue to present wonderfully exciting programs at public events.

If you have any questions about any of our programs, would like to support us in our efforts through a donation or through your time as a volunteer, please contact us by email or by phone.

I can be contacted directly at steve@wildlifeassociates.org.

Thanks again for your time and interest. If you can, bring us into your school, civic group, corporation, conference, or attend one of our workshops here at our wildlife sanctuary in Half Moon Bay, I can assure you it will be an enriching, vibrant, living experience.

Truly wild,
Steven Karlin

"I've seen your programs since 2nd grade. I've learned respect for wildlife and think it is the best assembly!"
